Job Description - Print and Copy Specialist (AUX)

Hourly Range: $22 per hour

About the Position

This position coordinates the production of all print and copy jobs through outsourcing or production within the department. This role also ensures timely and accurate reproduction of printed and copied materials, maintains accurate and complete billing records.

Essential Functions
  • Produce copy jobs and complete binding for projects by managing workflow and prioritizing projects based on scope and due dates. The process varies depending on the desired final product. Some projects may be straightforward while others may require providing samples/proofs and consulting to provide different options for finished products.
  • Analyze and manipulate files using Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop. Provide soft and hard copy proofs. Consult with faculty, staff and students to provide different options for finished products.
  • Outsource large projects to predetermined vendors. Provide instructions and obtain pricing and quotes for all outsourced projects. Ensure deadlines are met so that projects are delivered by the desired dates.
  • Complete billing through the point-of-sale system by accurately recording all billable products and ensuring all purchase orders are closed at the end of the month for billing purposes.
  • Delivery of copy jobs to various departments.

Cross-train in the Post Office to assist during peak business periods.

Help troubleshoot machine issues and place service calls. Keep track of supplies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

A minimum of one (1) year of experience is required. Experience in a copy center production environment, with the ability to manage time, projects, and workflow, is preferred. Experience with Adobe and Microsoft Suite is a plus.

Skills and Abilities

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. Candidate must have strong organizational skills, good communication skills, and a high level of customer service. Must have strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Candidate must have a good understanding of design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as Microsoft Office.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.

This position may require some Saturday shifts, as the Post Office is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
