Job Summary

The Interior Designer plays an important role in shaping the functionality, aesthetics, and user experience of Visioneering Studios projects. This position supports the development of interior design concepts, material selections, finish palettes, furniture solutions, and construction documentation while collaborating closely with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients.

The Interior Designer participates in projects from programming and schematic design through construction administration and is responsible for producing thoughtful, creative, and technically sound design solutions that align with project goals, client vision, budget requirements, and Visioneering standards.

This position is ideal for a motivated design professional seeking to grow technical expertise, client interaction skills, and project leadership responsibilities within an integrated design-build environment.

Responsibilities
  • Interior Design and Project Delivery
    • Participate in the interior design process across all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
    • Develop interior design concepts that support client goals, operational needs, brand identity, and user experience.
    • Research and select finishes, materials, furnishings, fixtures, color palettes, and interior products.
    • Prepare finish boards, material palettes, furniture concepts, and client presentation materials.
    • Develop interior design plans, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications.
    • Produce accurate and coordinated Revit documentation.
  • Client and Consultant Coordination
    • Participate in client meetings, presentations, workshops, and design discussions.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and manufacturers.
    • Assist in documenting client decisions and design direction.
  • Construction Administration
    • Assist with submittal reviews related to interior finishes, furnishings, and materials.
    • Respond to RFIs related to interior design scope.
    • Participate in site visits, punch list reviews, and field observations.
    • Support the project team in maintaining design intent during construction.
  • Design Research and Resource Management
    • Research emerging design trends, products, materials, and technologies.
    • Maintain finish libraries, vendor resources, and manufacturer relationships.
    • Develop and maintain material sample libraries and product databases.
  • Graphic Communication and Visualization
    • Create renderings, mood boards, finish presentations, diagrams, and client-facing graphics.
    • Develop compelling visual communication materials that clearly convey design intent.
    • Assist with proposal graphics, marketing materials, and business development efforts when needed.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Collaborate effectively with architects, project managers, and fellow designers.
    • Support continuous improvement of design standards, documentation quality, and project processes.
Software Proficiency Required or Preferred
  • BIM & CAD Tools
    • Autodesk Revit (required)
    • AutoCAD
    • Autodesk Navisworks
  • Project Collaboration & Management:
    Autodesk Construction Cloud and Bluebeam
  • Graphic & Documentation Tools
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
    • Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Environmental Design, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1 to 5 years of professional experience in an interior design or architecture firm.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, materials, furnishings, and finish systems.
  • Experience preparing design presentations, construction documents, and project deliverables.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • NCIDQ certification or active pursuit of certification.
    • LEED Accredited Professional or WELL accreditation.
    • ASID, IIDA, or similar professional organization involvement.
