Forensic Architect
We are recruiting on purpose a talented Forensic Architect in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to help lead and grow our burgeoning practice of forensic architecture.
Our expert will evaluate the cause(s) of defects or failure and options for repair in a variety of construction-related circumstances, including roof and building envelope evaluations, as well as premises liability evaluations, and be responsible for completing building investigations, reviewing construction documents, conducting building code research, completing structural failure analysis, writing reports, and for providing expert witness testimony.
Qualifications:- Active NCARB registration as an architect in TX or the ability to obtain it within six (6) months.
- Currently hold a NCARB Record and Certificate or the ability to obtain it within six (6) months.
- Must be well-versed with residential (IRC), commercial (IBC), and existing (IBED) I-codes.
- At least 10 years of heavy technical expertise with building envelope and failure analysis, waterproofing, roofing systems, exterior cladding, windows, destructive testing, etc.
- At least 5 years of experience conducting forensic inspections in the field and writing inspection reports.
- Expert witness experience is expected, both deposition and trial.
- Must be available for heavy travel.
- Project management experience is expected.
- You must be able to work independently, and with a cross functional team of engineers, construction consultants, and other experts.
- The ability to deliver the utmost in customer service to Haag's clients is required.
- Experience supervising, training, and mentoring junior associates is preferred.
- You must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including climbing on roofs, entering crawl spaces, and carrying heavy ladders, etc.
- You must be able to work in the U.S without sponsorship or any restrictions.
- A bachelor's degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited university is required; a master's degree is preferred.
