Radiation Oncology Physician Jobs – Locum Tenens in Tyler, Texas

Board-certified Radiation Oncology Physician needed for a short-term locum tenens opportunity in Tyler, Texas. Provide outpatient radiation oncology care for approximately 30 patients per day with support from an experienced clinical team and advanced radiation therapy technology.

• Coverage Dates: December 21–23 and December 28–31, 2026
• Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break
• Patient Volume: Approximately 30 patient encounters per shift
• Clinical Resources: Two Varian True Beam linear accelerators and one CT simulator
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,270–$7,420, based on applicable weekly scheduling

• Board certification in Radiation Oncology is required
• At least 1 year of relevant radiation oncology physician experience
• Active physician license eligible for practice in Texas
• Current BLS certification
• Fellowship training in Radiation Oncology
• Clinical proficiency with linear accelerator-based radiation therapy
• Experience with Rapid Arc/VMAT, electron therapy, conventional and conformal therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, hyperfractionation, and treatment planning
• Competency with MLC beam shaping, 3D conformal radiation therapy, PET/CT or MRI image fusion, and electronic portal imaging

• Conduct new patient consultations and develop appropriate radiation treatment plans
• Perform follow-up appointments and on-treatment visits
• Complete verification simulations and review treatment plans
• Provide safe, evidence-based care for patients receiving external beam radiation therapy
• Collaborate with radiation therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, and nursing staff
• Document clinical evaluations, treatment decisions, and patient progress accurately
