Licensed Specialist In School Psychology (LSSP) – full‑time, student‑focused.

Job DescriptionDEPARTMENT SUMMARY
Student Support Services (S3) – a multidisciplinary team of special educators, counselors, social workers, dyslexia specialists, 504 representatives, and clinic coordinators that prevent, respond to, and minimize barriers to learning.
ROLE SUMMARY
Provide diagnostic information on student learning and collaborate with instructional faculty and parents to develop appropriate educational programs for students with disabilities throughout KTX.
Responsibilities- Assessment, Data‑Based Decision Making & Accountability
- Utilize knowledge of data‑based decision making, diversity, research, and program evaluation to assist staff with decision‑making regarding student needs.
- Use appropriate assessment and data collection methods.
- Apply evaluation data to interventions, instruction, and services through reports and meetings with parents and staff.
- Contribute to school‑wide assessment practices for academic, socio‑emotional, and behavioral domains.
- Serve on school‑level teams (e.g., All Children Will Learn Committee, Response to Intervention team, Associate with ARDs).
- Assist with professional development to support district‑wide assessment practices.
- Contribute to progress monitoring and data‑based decisions for intervention practices.
- Conduct special education evaluations (formal and informal) to inform eligibility, service, and programming decisions; complete evaluations timely.
- Referral Review & Case Management
- Oversee special education referrals, ensuring documentation aligns with state and federal regulations.
- Monitor REED (Review of Existing Evaluation Data) processes for compliance and quality.
- When working with contractors, serve as case manager for evaluation logistics and review of reports.
- Consultation & Collaboration
- Promote learning, consultation, and collaboration to create effective learning environments.
- Engage school staff, parents, families, and community agencies.
- Core Professionalism
- Maintain attendance, punctuality, respect, and policies & procedures.
- Adhere to ethical standards and participate as an active stakeholder.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology from an accredited college or university.
- At least 1 year of experience as an LSSP or school psychologist.
- Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingualism (English‑Spanish).
- Minimum of 2 years of successful teaching or employment experience.
