The Part-Time Makerspace Instructor will be responsible for guiding students in K-12 schools through hands-on projects and activities related to 3D printing, laser printing, robotics, and other emerging technologies. This position aims to ignite students' creativity, problem-solving skills, and interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields.
Job Description:
The Part-Time Makerspace Instructor will engage with students across different age groups and educational backgrounds, fostering an environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and critical thinking. They will work closely with Concorde Education's Curriculum Development Team to design and deliver lessons that are aligned with the custom-tailored curriculum.
Responsibilities:
Implement and adapt Concorde Education's custom tailored curriculum for makerspace activities, ensuring alignment with relevant educational standards.
Operate, maintain, and provide training on various makerspace tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and other fabrication tools.
Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment, enabling students to work on individual and group projects.
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback, making necessary adjustments to meet individual learning needs.
Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay abreast of the latest trends in makerspace technologies and pedagogical approaches.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines within the makerspace, including proper usage of tools and equipment.
Work closely with school staff and Concorde Education's team to ensure seamless integration of makerspace activities within the overall educational program.
Expected Skills and
Qualifications:
Proficient in operating 3D printers, laser printers, CNC machines, and/or other makerspace technologies.
Experience:
Previous experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting, with a focus on hands-on learning is a plus.
Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, school staff, and the Concorde Education team.
Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Relevant certifications in 3D printing, laser cutting, or other makerspace technologies would be an asset.
