Position: Montessori Toddler or Primary Classroom Assistant: 7:45 AM – 1:00 PM

MCHS is dedicated to providing quality Montessori education to children 18 months to 6 years of age, when children are naturally enabled with the capacity to make substantial leaps in their academic, cognitive, and social development.

The MCHS Primary program is fully accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale(AMI), the only organization created by Dr. Maria Montessori to protect the integrity and authenticity of Montessori programs around the world.

The Cognia Global Commission also awarded MCHS Accredited status. Cognia bestows the recognition and authority of three of the U.S. regional accrediting agencies, the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).

Role Description

The Montessori Toddler and Primary Classroom Assistant will support the lead teacher during classroom activities, guide children in following the Montessori philosophy, and maintain a calm and organized learning environment. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing learning materials, supervising children during work and play, and assisting with daily routines and transitions. The Classroom Assistant will also collaborate with staff to provide a nurturing and respectful atmosphere for children to thrive.

Qualifications
  • Experience in Assistant Teaching and Montessori Education, with a passion for supporting learning in young children
  • Strong Communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff
  • Hands-on experience in Working With Children and providing Childcare
  • Ability to implement and follow Montessori principles and methodologies
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedication to fostering children’s development
  • High school diploma (required); coursework or certification in Montessori education or early childhood education is a plus
