* Provide high-quality instruction, feedback, and academic support for students in the online classroom environment.
* Deliver instruction aligned with ACU undergraduate course outcomes.
* Provide in-depth, timely, and meaningful feedback on student work that is both encouraging and constructively critical.
* Respond and professionally to student inquiries related to course content, assignments, or academic concerns within 48 hours during the school week.
* Conduct periodic synchronous interaction sessions when required by the course design, with equivalent asynchronous options provided.
* Facilitate, assess, and grade all course assignments in accordance with ACU grading standards and program timelines.
* Enter final course grades by assigned deadlines after consultation with the Lead Faculty and/or Program Director.
* Monitor student engagement and performance and proactively alert Lead Faculty and/or the Program Director to student concerns, including academic performance issues or potential policy violations such as plagiarism.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in Abilene Christian University’s Faculty Handbook, Faculty Guidelines, and Rising Scholars program standards.
* Participate in program planning, course refinement, and curriculum alignment efforts as part of the Rising Scholars instructional team.
* Provide feedback to the Program Director to support ongoing course and program improvement.
* Attend and complete required Rising Scholars, college, and university faculty trainings, including credentialing updates as needed.
* Participate in program and faculty meetings as able.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Faculty and/or Program Director.
* Deliver college-level economics instruction aligned with ACU-approved course outcomes, covering core principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics.
* Facilitate learning experiences that emphasize economic reasoning, data analysis, and decision-making rather than memorization of terms or models alone.
* Guide students in analyzing supply and demand, market structures, and the framework of the free enterprise system using real-world and contemporary examples.
* Support students in understanding national economic indicators such as GDP, unemployment, and inflation, and in evaluating the role and impact of fiscal policy, public debt, and monetary policy.
* Integrate discussions of international trade, economic growth, and globalization to help students connect economic theory to national and global contexts.
* Use multiple representations of economic concepts, including graphs, data tables, models, case studies, and written analysis, to support diverse learners.
* Monitor student progress closely and provide timely, targeted feedback to support high school learners as they develop college-level economic thinking and analytical skills.
* Participate in required Rising Scholars and ACU faculty onboarding and training.
* Engage in ongoing professional development related to online teaching, dual enrollment instruction, and high school learner engagement.
* Maintain credentialing and professional records as required by ACU.
* Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
* Effective time management and organizational skills.
* Computer proficiency with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and software platforms.
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and program standards.

* Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while teaching or grading.
* Physical ability to use a computer and other electronic devices.
* Capacity to manage conversations in person, online, and by telephone.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively.
* Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
* Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline taught
* Relevant professional or academic experience in the content area of the assigned course.
* Minimum of two years of university-level teaching experience preferred.
* Prior online teaching experience strongly preferred.
* Proficiency in APA style and academic integrity standards.
* Strong computer skills with experience using LMS platforms and online instructional tools.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to situate instructional responsibilities within the broader mission and goals of Abilene Christian University.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to build consensus and work effectively across teams.
