Department SummaryThe University of North Texas at Dallas launched the Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) in 2025. The Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) at UNT Dallas serves as a dynamic hub to prepare students for meaningful careers and lives through hands-on learning and professional development.
- Partnering with faculty as key stakeholders to co-design initiatives that integrate academic rigor with career readiness
- Helping students develop "power skills" and character to thrive in a global workforce, connecting academic learning with real-world experience through internships, service-learning, and study abroad programs
- Providing tools, resources, and guidance for career exploration, resume building, interview preparation, and job placement
- Collaborating with employers and community organizations to create impactful experiential learning opportunities
- Providing resources and support to integrate experiential learning into courses and student organizations
The Career Technology & Assessment Specialist advances the Center's mission by leveraging data and technology to enhance experiential learning and career readiness outcomes. This role ensures evidence-based decision-making, continuous improvement, and innovative technology solutions that support student success. The Assistant Director of Assessment and Technology will lead data-driven initiatives to evaluate the impact of experiential learning and career success programs. This role oversees assessment strategies technology integration, and reporting systems to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with institutional goals.
The position collaborates with faculty, staff and external partners to enhance student outcomes through innovative tools and evidence-based practices. This is a new position reporting directly to the Executive Director, Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success.
Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of data analysis work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Assessment & Evaluation including principles of student learning outcomes assessment, data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement processes and survey design and program evaluation methodologies.
- Knowledge of Technology in Career Services includes career management platforms (e.g., Handshake, Simplicity), learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard), data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) and familiarity with CRM systems and student success technologies.
- Knowledge of Experiential Learning Frameworks like high-impact practices (internships, service-learning, research), and experiential learning assessment.
- Data Analysis & Reporting skills include the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data as well as create actionable reports for leadership and accreditation bodies.
- Project & Process Management skills like management of assessment cycles, timelines, and technology implementations.
- Skills related to the development and maintenance of dashboards for tracking student engagement and outcomes.
