For more information about the university, go to:(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UNT Dallas is to recruit, admit and enroll an academically prepared student body reflective of the state of Texas who are the best fit for UNT Dallas.
This position is responsible for providing support in the document management and application processing for the undergraduate admissions office. Responsibilities include the daily processing of prospective student applications into the University's student database, evaluation of official secondary and postsecondary transcripts and applying University admission criteria in determining an admission decision for the applicant. This position also creates, maintains, and organizes student records using an imaging system and University student system software.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Admissions Processing, the Admissions Processor assists in developing office processes and procedures to ensure work is effectively and accurately completed. The Admissions Processor may also be required to assist in the training of new staff. The Admissions Processor is a vital part of the work conducted within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and in ensuring the University 's attainment of new student enrollment goals.
Associate's degree and one (1) year of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to organize workload to ensure deadlines are met and schedule work assignments in priority or date received order.
- Experience with computer and internet operations required.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
- Knowledge of academic systems, standards and practices (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
- Ability to analyze problems and determine appropriate solutions within a framework of general policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with wide populations verbally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume department. Proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
- Previous admission experience and/or familiarity with application processes preferred
- Previous People Soft experience preferred
- Previous experience with Perceptive Content or other similar document imaging and maintenance system.
- Knowledge of admission rules and regulations, FERPA, and university policies.
- Provides support in application processing for new and returning students.
- Downloads all new student applications into the University's student database, and enters student data accurately and efficiently.
- Processes readmit (returning student) applications.
- Determines residency status according to state regulations.
- Prints officially downloaded transcripts.
- Evaluates secondary and postsecondary academic transcripts based on University…
