Department SummaryThe Community Youth Development program provides an array of services such as mentoring, youth leadership development, and after-school programs to promote protective factors in youth and prevent negative outcomes such as juvenile delinquency. The CYD
- Rising Blazers Program at the University of North Texas at Dallas will provide Mental Health, Academic, and Social/ Emotional support through Community Collaborative Programming for students within the Dallas area. The Rising Blazers Programs at UNT Dallas will be integral partners with our participants, their families, local schools (public, private and charter) and our service providers to identify, advise and ultimately guide them to resolutions to the issues students which impact their Social, Emotional and/or Academic lives.
The goal is to provide a Vision, Framework, and Holistic Plan for each student to attain their High School Diploma and Collegiate Degree in order to become active participants of our society.
The Community Youth Development Program Manager is a key member of the Texas Health and Family Services-sponsored Community Youth Development and will have the primary responsibility of overseeing the Community Youth Development Program. The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the project including planning, implementing, and developing educational curriculum for programing needs (e.g. tutoring, college readiness, and youth leadership development, mentoring, and summer programs), preparing monthly and annual institutional and state reports, and working with key personnel in the respective zip codes to identify potential students and families to participate.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Experience with project management tools and their effective use in managing projects.
- Experience with online platforms and digital platforms to track work, communicate with others, promote recruitment and engagement, and perform data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to utilize MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Teams, Qualtrics and data to set goals and perform employment responsibilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relations.
- Ability to manage and expand program partnerships.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in education, social work, or a related degree from an accredited institution college or university.
- 2-5 years of experience with program implementation and development
- 2-5 years of experience with Federal, State, and Local funding programs.
- Technical experience working with Microsoft 365 programs and apps.
- Prepare monthly and annual institutional and state reports.
- Serve as a point of contact for community partners, program partners, stakeholders, coalition members, and parents of CYD youth.
- Maintain accurate contact information for programming contacts.
- Maintain compliance with UNT Dallas policies and procedures as well as State regulations.
- Track statistics, gather and analyze data, and submit required reports. Conduct a monthly report and attendance for UNT Dallas as a service provider.
- Manage and organize the facilitation of daily operations of the Community Youth Development Program both internally and externally.
- Track progress and measure program outcomes, make adjustments as needed to ensure goals are met per HHS.
- Ensure events, programming, scope/sequence, and curriculums align with PWP and project goals.
- Input registration data.
- Complete discharges and make sure all discharges are complete in a timely manner.
- Assist with monthly report monitoring and preparation of quarterly/annual reports.
- Support recruitment and communication with students the expectations and considerations of the Community Youth Development Program to meet monthly requirements.
