Summary
This position has responsibility for up to five periods of classes containing up to 16 students each. The teacher is responsible for Latin instruction three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday), for creating lesson plans and assignments based on blueprints, and for posting assignments to the school's online portal for parents to access. Candidates should be capable of, and interested in, teaching students in classes ranging from Upper Latin I to V (7th - 12th grades).
Previous Latin teaching experience is preferred, especially experience with our curriculum of choice, Lingua Latina. Curriculum and materials will be provided.
Part-time. Three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., plus additional preparation time as needed. Some training and in-service days are also required.
Start dateClasses begin August 24. Training for incoming teachers will take place August 3-7.
Required qualificationsBachelor's degree; agreement with and support of the school's statement of faith; strong commitment to Christian education and the Classical Model of education.
Additional desirable qualificationsTeaching experience at a classical school, teaching certification, and BA or graduate degree in Latin or Classics is preferred.
