Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course‑by‑course basis throughout an academic year. This position is limited to Face‑to‑Face instruction at the Dallas Campus only.
Duties & Responsibilities- Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two courses) within the required discipline.
- Deliver instruction on‑campus, off‑campus, or online, at day and/or evening times as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.
- Develop and manage the class syllabus, ensuring it meets department and college standards.
- Plan and create lectures, in‑class discussions, and assignments.
- Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
- Assist/mentor students as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to teach Face‑to‑Face at Dallas Campus.
- Education:
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field is required to teach undergraduate courses, OR a terminal degree in the field of study (or closely related) is required to teach graduate courses. - Experience:
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience. - Knowledge/
Skills:
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others. - Licensing/Professional
Certifications:
Recommended TEA teacher’s certification. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel. - Other Requirements:
Flexible schedule.
- Current relevant professional credentials.
- College or university teaching experience.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
- Prior relevant industry experience.
- Online or hybrid teaching experience.
