Job Summary
Parish Episcopal School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well‑being of students, ensuring a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning. This position requires a strong background in nursing, along with experience working with children in various educational settings. This is a part‑time after‑school position five days a week, beginning August 19, 2026, (2.5 hrs/day).

- Provide first aid and emergency care to students as needed.
- Administer medications and manage health plans for students with chronic conditions.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to monitor student health.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health needs.
- Educate students on health-related topics, including hygiene, nutrition, and wellness.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies.
- Support special education initiatives by addressing the unique health needs of students.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive school environment.
- Participate in school events, including sports activities and camps, to ensure student safety.
- Provide guidance on childhood development and early childhood education principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN or LVN licensure in the State of Texas.
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation program completion.
- Experience in pediatric nursing and/or experience as a school nurse preferred.
- Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology required.
- Regularly works in standard office conditions and climate.
- Regularly uses close and distance vision; ability to observe students from various distances.
- Frequently required to move around the campus/classroom/playground.
- Ability to occasionally move items weighing up to 30 lbs. across the campus/classroom/playground.
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with students, fellow staff, and community members.
