Spanish Adjunct Pool
University of North Texas System, Dallas, TX. Position Type:
Adjunct/Part‑Time. Salary: $3,500 per course.
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for Spanish Adjunct Instructor positions for the Academic Year . The successful candidate will provide instruction for online, hybrid, and face‑to‑face classes in Spanish at all levels of proficiency and assist in further development of the Spanish program.
Responsibilities- Develop courses, plan and deliver instruction, and evaluate teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Provide instruction for online, hybrid, and face‑to‑face Spanish classes at all proficiency levels.
- Attend office hours and meet office‑hour requirements for part‑time faculty.
- Comply with departmental curriculum, grading standards, attendance policies, textbook choices, and semester‑long teaching evaluations.
- Return college reports, credentials, and other requested documentation in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate with appropriate staff and the Spanish program coordinator.
- Master’s degree in Spanish, Spanish Linguistics, Literature, Spanish Education, or a related field.
- EC‑12 LOTE – Spanish teaching certification.
- Experience developing and teaching Spanish courses.
- Availability to teach day and evening face‑to‑face courses.
- Experience teaching online and hybrid courses.
- Experience teaching dual‑credit, Early College High School, or high‑school courses.
- Willingness to teach Early College High School courses, Beginning and Intermediate Spanish.
- Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Spanish, Spanish Linguistics, Literature, Spanish Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with all individuals and recruiting and retaining students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience developing and implementing service‑learning and experiential learning in curricular and co‑curricular settings.
- Experience in service activities for the university and community.
EC‑12 LOTE – Spanish certification.
Physical Requirements- Communicate with others to exchange information.
- Lift and move objects up to 20 pounds.
- Move self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing.
- Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
