Department Summary

University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for Adjunct Instructor positions for the Academic Year . The successful candidate will contribute to the UNT Dallas Department of Natural Sciences by teaching undergraduate physics and related courses and supporting the department’s mission to foster learning and curiosity.

Position Overview

Adjunct faculty will plan, deliver, and evaluate instruction for algebra- and calculus-based physics, astronomy, and associated labs. Labs are scheduled primarily in the afternoons or evenings. Instruction may also include science lecture courses (earth science, environmental science) for non‑majors.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Physics with outstanding teaching experience in lower‑level physics courses
  • OR Master’s degree in Science Education with at least 18 graduate hours in Physics and outstanding teaching experience in lower‑level science courses

  • Strong teaching skills
  • Effective communication with students and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Physics with significant experience in higher education
  • Successful experience teaching adults in a post‑secondary institution
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience teaching and developing online courses
Physical Requirements
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds
  • Operating in tight and confined spaces
  • Primarily sedentary work involving sitting or standing
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Environmental Hazards
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected
