Job DescriptionTITLE: DEAN OF INSTRUCTION DUTY DAYS: 195
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate degree and valid Texas Teacher's Certificate
REPORTS TO:
Campus Administration FLSA: EXEMPT
JOB GOAL:
To raise scores on standardized tests, fill in gaps presently not addressed at A+ Charter Schools, and ensure academic integrity at A+ Charter Schools.
- Analyze all campus data to determine needs and gaps in student achievement
- Provide feedback from walkthroughs to teachers and principals
- Attend regional curriculum director meetings to ensure campus knowledge of latest state requirements
- Serve as campus liaison to Gifted and Talented Program
- Serve as PDAS Coordinator
- Collect, analyze and review all lesson plans campus wide
- Collect, analyze and review all syllabi on secondary level
- Lead improvement workshops for teachers
- Monitor maintenance of grades and grade books
- Attend grade level and department meetings to ensure academic integrity
- Work with counselors to create Middle School and High School schedule
- Work with counselors in college readiness initiatives
- Serve as a member of the Campus Improvement Team
- Serve as a member of the Student Services Team
- Serve as Final Exam Coordinator
- Serve as Campus Benchmark Coordinator
- Serve as Campus SAT Coordinator
- Serve as Campus AP Testing Coordinator
- Coordinate Teacher Induction Programs
- Serve as the Campus Testing Coordinator.
- Serve as Campus Textbook Coordinator
- Stand in for Principals as needed in ARD, SST, and Attendance Committee
- Lead teams to create policies needed by campus
- All other duties as assigned by Administration

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hour; occasional district wide and statewide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
