Position: Dyslexia Intervention Specialist (26-27SY)

Primary

Purpose:

The Dyslexia Interventionist provides specialized, evidence-based literacy instruction using the MTA curriculum to support scholars needing dyslexia programming services. This role serves as campus-based expert, driving scholar success through rigorous progress monitoring, proactive stakeholder communication, and collaborative partnerships with faculty. The intervention ensures instructional integrity through meticulous documentation and a commitment to ongoing professional mastery of the curriculum.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Provide structured, evidence-based dyslexia instruction to identified scholars in small group setting using the network approved dyslexia intervention curriculum.

* Implement instruction with fidelity to program design, ensuring alignment with state and district dyslexia guidelines.

* Maintain accurate weekly attendance logs for all scholars receiving dyslexia intervention services.

* Conduct and document quarterly progress monitoring to assess scholar growth and response to intervention.

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding scholar progress, instructional goals, and support.

* Use assessment and progress monitoring data to inform instructional decisions and adjust intervention as needed.

* Maintain compliant and timely documentation of scholar services, progress, and instructional records.

* Respond to all communication from Dyslexia Services Coordinator, campus leadership, and families within 48 business hours.

* Collaborate with campus staff, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective implementation of dyslexia services.

* Participate in ARD/IEP meetings as required and contribute data, progress updates, and instructional recommendations.

* Support campus staff through training and resources related to dyslexia instruction and accommodations.

* Attends all Dyslexia Intervention trainings and collaboration days.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)

* Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university required.

* Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 1-3 years teaching experience. Experience delivering structured, evidence-based reading instruction to students with reading difficulties and/or dyslexia.

* Special Skills/

Certifications:

Must have a valid Texas Teacher Certification.

Dyslexia Certification (e.g., LDT, CALT, CALP) preferred;
If no prior training, must complete Kit 1 Amplio Training within first 30 days of start date (training provided by employer)

* Technology:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook). Ability to use basic office equipment. The ability to learn and use other software as necessary.
