Position DescriptionThe Employment and Career Pathways Specialist will play a foundational role in delivering employment and career coaching services within the program. This position will provide career guidance to participants, with an emphasis on youth ages 15-17, support pre-apprenticeships, the coordination of internships and job opportunities, job placement, and early job success, and collaborate with program partners to strengthen career development pathways.
The specialist will contribute to the continuous improvement of employment services by sharing insights, supporting process refinement, and delivering high-quality coaching and training support.

ResponsibilitiesEmployment Services Management
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of employment services for program participants.
- Instruct students in job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, job retention skills and attitudes.
- Monitor students on the job and provide coaching and feedback to address both satisfactory and unsatisfactory performance issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers.
- Prepare participants for job fairs and provide on-site support, including coaching on networking, resumes, and employer interactions.
Career Coaching and Development
- Provide individual and group career coaching sessions.
- Assist participants in identifying their career goals and developing actionable plans to achieve them.
- Apply strength-based approaches with a trauma-informed lens to coach students on academic, vocational, and employment goals. Provide individualized career coaching and job placement support, preparing students to secure and succeed in employment opportunities.
- Support the creation and refinement of career pathways by collaborating with partner organizations and sharing insights to improve service delivery.
- Goal and career assessments (resume worksheets, cover letters, and quality assurance surveys).
Collaboration and Program Coordination
- Set up internships, job opportunities, and events in coordination with other Dallas program team members.
- Write and implement individualized job support plans, drawing on input from workforce trainers and social workers.
- Attending all relevant meetings (supervision, staff meetings, case conference sessions, curriculum development, and workshops, etc.).
- Collaborate with the HQ Development team to support program communications needs, ensuring effective storytelling and messaging alignment.
- Collaborate with the case manager throughout the 7-week cohort to coordinate participant support, share progress, and align services.
Internship Program Oversight
- Support the administration and coordination of the Work-Based Learning program, including participant enrollment, placement coordination, engagement tracking, and progress monitoring to support skill development, pre-apprenticeships, career alignment, and early job success.
- Participate in program activities such as virtual and in-person panels, workshops, employer site visits, and community-based engagement events that support participant learning and program connection.
