Position: Attendance PEIMS Specialist 2627

Role Responsibilities

The Attendance & PEIMS Specialist is a school‑based position responsible for maintaining student information data, supporting teaching and learning, and providing data to inform decisions.

  • Manages the school attendance process and maintains attendance records.
  • Partners with students, staff, and parents to ensure daily attendance.
  • Provides training to teachers on attendance procedures and inputs data into the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Documents attendance changes, corrects data, and completes audits as needed.
  • Communicates attendance reporting to staff and indicates students at risk.
  • Participates in the weekly attendance check‑in meeting with increasing responsibilities over time.
  • Maintains accurate student data and information in compliance with federal, state, and school expectations.
  • Audits and corrects student data issues in the SIS and completes Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) reporting.
  • Generates and reviews reports and verifies information with stakeholders.
  • Manages incoming and outgoing requests for student records through TREx.
  • Enters and updates master and student schedules in SIS.
  • Reviews and determines eligibility for programs and documents eligibility in systems.
  • Runs grade verification reports for each grading cycle and prints progress reports and report cards.
  • Processes documentation for student enrollment and maintains lottery records.
  • Verifies full enrollment and corrects registration packets and SIS data.
  • Collects required documents for enrollment.
  • Sets up, manages, and audits student folders.
  • Accepts transfer requests and coordinates the process with other schools.
  • Handles external student document requests.
  • Tracks leaver information and ensures withdrawal meetings are held.
  • Prepares transcripts and provides proof of enrollment.
Qualifications
  • English and Spanish bilingual proficiency.

  • Strong project and time‑management skills with the ability to plan backwards and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Experience managing and entering data.
  • Customer‑service mindset, humility, and urgency with proactive problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to establish relationships, communicate effectively, and collaborate with staff, families, and students.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to move inside and outside the school throughout the workday.
  • Expected to attend conferences, meetings, and training sessions both virtually and in person within the region.
Additional Requirements
  • Reliable transportation for travel between campuses.
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
Work Environment
  • Reports to school site Monday‑Friday.
  • Typical school environment with frequent interruptions.
Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel; may travel to other school sites or regional offices for professional learning or meetings.
