The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time academic professional track (non‑tenure) faculty position with an 11‑month appointment beginning January 2026. Applicants are considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor depending on qualification and credentials.
Positions are available in two tracks:
- Clinical Track Faculty – responsibilities include supervising pre‑clinical and clinical activities, delivering instruction, evaluating students, providing patient care, engaging in scholarly activities, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in departmental service.
- Tenure‑Track Faculty – responsibilities include undergraduate or graduate classroom/clinical teaching, mentoring students and trainees, recruiting and mentoring residents, publishing peer‑reviewed research, securing extramural funding, and providing service to the College and university.
Required
- Completion of a master’s degree or clinical certificate in operative/restorative dentistry.
- Minimum of three years of clinical dental practice experience.
- Eligibility for dental licensure in the State of Texas.
- Experience with digital dental technologies (e.g., CAD/CAM).
- Demonstrated commitment to student development and success.
- Strong educational and evidence‑based practice knowledge and skills.
Preferred
- Documented experience in esthetics.
- PhD in dental materials or related area.
- Demonstrated innovation and adaptability in educational settings.
- Experience mentoring students.
- Record of collaborative achievements.
- Record of scholarship and funding.
- Current or previous academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher, with predoctoral education experience.
- Experience with dental implant‑supported restorations.
