Job Description
Bishop Dunne Catholic School is seeking an experienced High School English Teacher for the academic year. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional who understands the joys and demands of teaching, with at least two years of experience teaching English at the secondary level and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter.

Responsibilities- Develop daily lessons that meet the goals of the classes.
- Complete grading and maintain accurate grade books.
- Maintain an advisory group and lead advisory group meetings.
- Perform basic administrative duties such as maintaining attendance records and writing comments.
- Report to the Assistant Principal and exercise decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.
Monday - Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with after school hours required as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications- A master’s degree in English from an accredited university.
- A valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject and level, and an ability to teach AP and dual credit courses.
- At least two years of experience teaching English at the secondary level.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Solid technology skills for use in instructional and professional tasks.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check; comply with the Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Program.
