About the Position:
This role is an on‑campus, in‑person position.
The Assistant Director of Compliance assists with the day‑to‑day operations of Athletics Compliance Office. Monitor and organize recruitment documentation involving telephone calls, contacts, evaluations, unofficial visits, and official visits. Monitor playing and practice season information related to countable athletically related activities (CARA) logs, playing season declaration, dates of competition. Enter, update, and maintain student‑athlete information in various databases. Maintain records of rules education sessions and materials.
Monitor student‑athlete participation awards. Assist with legislative interpretations. Assist with processing secondary violations. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor and organize recruitment documentation involving telephone calls, contacts, evaluations, unofficial visits, and official visits.
- Monitor playing and practice season information related to countable athletically related activities (CARA) logs, Time Management Plans (TMPs), playing season declaration, and dates of competition.
- Enter, update, and maintain student‑athlete information in various databases.
- Maintain records of rules education sessions and materials.
- Assist with processing secondary violations.
- Assist with legislative interpretations.
- Other duties assigned.
- Travel is required on occasion in conjunction with athletics department events and competitions, meetings, conferences, and seminars.
- Evening and/or weekend hours may be required in consideration of athletics compliance‑related duties at athletics department practices, competitions, and other events.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with at least one (1) year of athletics compliance experience at an NCAA Division I institution. Two (2) or more years of progressive experience in NCAA Division I athletics compliance is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
