Literacy Program Coordinator, Alpha

Annual Salary: $100,000, paid weekly.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 100% in‑classroom with K‑2 learners.

Alpha is redefining classroom instruction through AI‑adaptive applications and hands‑on, data‑driven workshops. As a guiding educator you will focus on small‑group reading workshops, motivation sessions, and real‑time instruction based on live student data.

• Designing and facilitating small‑group K‑2 reading workshops grounded in structured‑literacy frameworks (Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent), informed by live student data.
• Running daily motivation sessions to ensure 100% of students achieve weekly adaptive‑app targets using Alpha’s motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age‑appropriate gamification).
• Conducting and interpreting running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments to monitor progress and refine upcoming instruction.
• Analyzing AI‑generated performance data from Alpha’s adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction in the moment.
• Serving as the approachable, energetic adult that K‑2 students look forward to seeing each day.

• Implementing a published reading curriculum, scripted program, or district pacing guide.
• Delivering lectures to a full classroom; instruction is in small groups and subject work is via adaptive apps.
• Acting as a reading consultant, teacher coach, or district‑level specialist outside direct classroom practice.
• Managing traditional classroom blocks such as subject‑by‑subject lectures, homework review, or test prep.
• Grading homework or report cards; student progress is tracked via app data and running records.

Provide structured‑literacy instruction that produces measurable acceleration in K‑2 reading outcomes across phonics, fluency, and decoding.

• Structured‑literacy certification (Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson Reading System, IMSE, CERI, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent) OR a Master’s degree in reading instruction.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 2+ years of full‑time K‑2 structured reading instruction in a school or clinical setting.
• Proven ability to create independent reading lessons and clearly articulate instruction without a published program.
• Willingness to work full‑time on‑site at one Alpha campus (list above) and to incorporate AI and adaptive‑learning tools into daily instruction.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. or Puerto Rico without visa sponsorship.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required for the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus.

• Direct experience with AI‑powered or adaptive reading platforms (e.g., Amira, Lexia, i‑Ready, Reading Plus) for lesson planning or data interpretation.
• Documented record of measurable reading outcomes (fluency gains in WCPM, accuracy improvement, decoding level advancement).
• Experience in non‑traditional or innovative school environments (charter, micro‑school, Montessori, hybrid).
• Experience engaging a K‑2 audience outside the classroom, such as coaching youth sports.
