Role Description

Role Responsibilities- Develop year-long Texas State standards-based unit and lesson plans to meet all students’ learning needs.
- Use assessment data to modify short‑ and long‑term plans to promote academic performance for all students.
- Incorporate feedback as part of a constant improvement cycle.
- Collaborate with content and grade‑level teams to foster critical thinking and rigorous academics.
- Build trusting and respectful relationships with students and families.
- Participate in daily school functions, including morning, lunch, and supervisory duties.
- Attend staff meetings, open houses, and parent‑teacher conferences.
- Develop individualized learning plans and communicate them in parent meetings.
- Meet professional obligations, including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Bilingual Education (or currently pursuing certification).
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the core subject area assigned.
- Unwavering commitment to the KIPP Texas mission, students, families, and community.
- Strong record of helping students achieve academic success, especially in underserved communities.
- Desire to teach an academically intense curriculum and commit to an extended school day, week, and year.
- Willingness to learn continuously, give and receive constructive feedback, and be flexible to meet student needs.
- Must be able to move around the school during the workday.
- Expected to attend conferences, meetings, and training sessions both virtually and in person.
- Reliable transportation is required for travel between campuses.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work effectively amidst frequent interruptions.
- Reports to the school site Monday‑Friday.
- Typical school environment with frequent interruptions.
Minimal travel; may travel to other school sites or regional offices for professional learning or meetings.
