Position OverviewThe Student Leadership & Success Intern serves as a central operational and support role for the Department of Student Leadership & Success. This position provides high-level coordination, communication, logistical, and programmatic support to ensure the successful execution of leadership development, scholarship, retention, student engagement, and Early College High School initiatives.
The intern will assist the Executive Director in managing departmental operations, student communications, event coordination, program tracking, reporting, scheduling, purchasing, onboarding, IT, marketing and communication, and office management while supporting key institutional initiatives.
Minimum QualificationsCurrently enrolled UNT Dallas student, in good standing, and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work professionally with students, faculty, staff, donors, and community partners
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
- Knowledge of higher education student support environments preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, databases, and CRM systems preferred
- Ability to support fast-paced student-centered programming
- IT & Data Analytics.
- Assist with departmental purchasing, invoices, travel requests, reimbursements, and budget tracking.
- Event & Engagement Coordination.
- Coordinate workshops, mentoring activities, leadership events, and student outreach.
- Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students, families, faculty, and community partners.
- Assist with student tracking, engagement documentation, and program communications.
- Manage calendars, appointments, meetings, and scheduling for the Executive Director and departmental initiatives.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
