The Family Engagement Specialist is a school‑based position that ensures students and families are positioned to engage in learning on a daily basis. The role builds relationships with families, sets the tone for exceptional customer service, and supports the School Operations Team in creating a thriving school environment.
Key Responsibilities Partners with students, staff and parents to ensure students attend school every day- Orients families to attendance expectations for new and existing families
- Makes daily attendance calls to families and documents all attendance changes
- Captures and shares key information or context shared during calls with families
- Participates in weekly attendance check‑in meetings with school leadership, taking on increasing responsibilities over time
- Partners with families and students when additional attendance supports are needed
- Supports families through the re‑enrollment process
- Completes application verification calls and updates the application system as needed
- Assists with planning of school events and activities
- Partners with other schools to support families through school transitions
- Reviews and submits student attrition data reports, identifies trends and works with the school leadership team to improve student attrition rates
- Implements and leads parent involvement programs, ensuring engagement from families
- Manages the translation of family communications and parent meetings
- Captures pictures and videos for school events and manages school communication platforms
- Ensures all parent‑facing materials are readily available
- Schedules parent meetings with appropriate team members
- Builds relationships with community partners to boost brand awareness
- Monitors and reviews feedback with Assistant Principal of Operations, focusing on non‑instructional services and support
Education and Experience
- Bilingual:
English and Spanish required

- Strong project and time‑management skills; ability to effectively back‑plan, juggle multiple priorities with great attention to detail, and deliver consistent, timely results
- Experience managing and entering data
- Sense of humility, customer‑service mindset, and urgency to proactively solve problems and make decisions quickly
- Ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community partners
