3rd Grade Math and Science Teacher

Lakehill Preparatory School seeks a warm, engaging, and collaborative full-time 3rd Grade Math and Science Teacher to join our Lower School team. We are looking for an educator who values building strong relationships with students and families while creating a joyful and structured learning environment that reflects the mission and values of Lakehill.

Third grade is an exciting year of academic growth as students transition from learning foundational skills to applying knowledge through deeper critical thinking, problem-solving, and exploration. The ideal candidate will bring a genuine passion for math and science instruction, creating a classroom environment where students develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Candidates should be comfortable utilizing the en Vision Mathematics curriculum to provide engaging, differentiated instruction that strengthens conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and real-world application. In science, the right educator has an enthusiasm for hands‑on, inquiry‑based science instruction that encourages exploration, investigation, and real‑world connections through classroom experiences, the use of resources such as Smithsonian Science curriculum kits, and opportunities for learning at Lakehill’s Environmental Science Center campus.

This educator should foster creativity, independence, and a growth mindset while supporting the social‑emotional growth of students through clear expectations, strong classroom routines, and an environment where learners feel challenged, supported, and inspired.

Ideal candidates should have the following qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Prior classroom teaching experience, preferably in upper elementary grades.
• Demonstrated ability to create a positive, engaging, and well‑structured classroom environment where students feel known, supported, and challenged.
• A strong understanding of elementary mathematics concepts, including experience with or willingness to learn the en Vision Mathematics program.
• The ability to differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles, abilities, and student needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive partnerships with students, families, and colleagues.
• A collaborative spirit, flexibility, attention to detail, and excellent follow‑through.
• A genuine desire to foster curiosity, confidence, kindness, and a love of learning in young learners.
• A commitment to ongoing professional growth while serving as a positive role model who reflects Lakehill’s mission of learning with curiosity, leading with confidence, and serving with compassion.
