Primary Purpose
Uplift Luna is looking for a passionate and flexible teacher to serve 11th-12th grade scholars, teaching DP Math:
Analysis &approaches and/or Applications & Interpretation. The candidate should be enthusiastic about fostering student growth and ready to embrace the dynamic nature of our school environment.
All instructional candidates who are not currently certified must enroll in the Teach Us Certification Program (or an Uplift-approved alternative) and complete enrollment within the designated onboarding timeline. Candidates are expected to have applied to the Program at the time of offer acceptance or immediately upon receiving an offer.
The program is a fast-paced 6–9 month certification course designed to prepare candidates for classroom instruction.
- Teach Us includes a total cost of $4,800 with flexible payment options; payments may begin as low as $99/month until a Statement of Eligibility is earned.
- Upon securing the Statement of Eligibility, any remaining balance is adjusted so that full payment is completed by the end of the academic school year.
- Arrive at school 15 minutes before carpool and be available for assigned duties or set-up (7:15 am).
- Remain at school until a director or business necessity determines otherwise.
- Participate in school-wide and individual professional development, including 2‑3 week summer sessions.
- Attend and take part in all staff meetings.
- Perform necessary duties including bus, morning, lunch, and after‑noon assignments.
- Chaperone field lessons and trips.
- Comply with all state and federal mandates for reporting sexual or physical abuse and neglect.
- Uphold the code of conduct and all school policies.
- Maintain and support a positive, professional school culture.
- Model behavior within the code of conduct.
- Support and follow directives of campus administrators.
- Provide clerical, instructional, and behavioral support for scholars as needed.
- Enroll in and complete all required Texas Reading Academies Training.
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to plan, align, and integrate curricula that are consistently assessed.
- Attend all grade-level meetings.
- Collaborate with the grade level to address and resolve student issues.
- Create rigorous and engaging long‑term, quarterly, weekly, daily, and lesson‑specific lesson plans.
- Set clear short‑term and long‑term goals to drive instruction.
- Maintain a productive, safe, and focused learning environment.
- Consistently enforce Uplift Education's core mission and values。
- Provide timely, meaningful assessments and utilize daily conference time for feedback.
- Offer necessary accommodations and modifications for the success of all students.
- Deliver effective instruction of the adopted curriculum, the Uplift curriculum, and the International Baccalaureate components.
- Go above and beyond to ensure students meet appropriate standards.
- Keep parents informed about student progress with frequent feedback, weekly assessments, and quarterly report cards.
- Maintain an open-door policy.
- Uphold all school policies within the classroom setting.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and public agencies in support of the attendance program.
- Complete required network or state‑mandated trainings by due date.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited college or university required;
Master's degree preferred but not required. - Previous teaching experience a plus.
- Must hold valid Texas Teacher Certification or be enrolled in an approved Uplift certification course.
- Bilingual skills:
Spanish speaking a plus. - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); basic office equipment operation; ability to learn additional software.
Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands for fine manipulation, and occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds. The role requires the ability to maintain emotional control under stress and accommodate irregular hours. The work environment includes varying noise levels and frequent interruptions.
Compensation & BenefitsNew Teacher Starting Salary: $63,000
High Needs Stipend: $4,500
