Part-Time Homeschool Teacher; Dyslexia in Dallas, TX

Overview

Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person kindergarten teacher to teach all core subjects to a 5-year-old boy at his home in Dallas, TX 75230.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is a part-time position in the mornings for one student, paying $70 per hour ($1,050 per week). The opportunity begins the last week of August for the upcoming fall school year.

• Teach and facilitate all homeschool subjects for a 5-year-old boy with dyslexia and a mild speech impediment.
• Identify educational needs, teach all subjects, and review progress with the parents.
• Provide structure with the curriculum used and keep the student moving forward; be energetic, encouraging, patient, and responsive to learning differences.
• Collaborate with the family on curriculum selection.
• Communicate effectively with parents and, if applicable, other educators.

• BA/BS and state teaching certification; minimum of two years of professional classroom teaching experience with early elementary students.
• Experience with dyslexia and reading intervention is preferred; a reading specialist with experience teaching children with dyslexia is preferred.
• Experience with mild speech impediments in young children.
• Comfortable teaching all subjects in a homeschool environment; own reliable transportation and cell phone; willingness to travel to the student s home in Dallas, TX 75230.
• Excellent communication and ability to interview in person in Dallas and remotely via live video chat.
