Highland Park United Methodist Church Day School is a great place to work with children! This position is responsible for guiding and caring for our young friends in our all-day, early childhood education program.

This is a part-time position work an anticipated up to 10 hours per week.

Job

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Spanish Teacher works as part of our teaching team to develop lessons appropriate for preschool students with an emphasis on colors, numbers, animals, and basic Spanish vocabulary.

• Plan, and implement the Spanish curriculum
• Collaborate with the Curriculum Coordinator to align the scope and sequence with other curriculum programs
• Communicate regularly with school administrators and other staff as appropriate

Additional Requirements:

• Experience working in an early childhood program required
• CPR and First Aid Certifications (can be completed while employed)
• Demonstrated skill in working with children, planning developmentally appropriate lessons, guiding children, interacting positively with children, parents and co-workers
• Commitment to continuing professional education

Education and Desired

Skills:

• High School Diploma is required
• Early Childhood Education coursework or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
