Department Summary
The Counseling Program at UNT Dallas prepares a multi-culturally competent counselor and a change agent who promotes wellness in children, adults, families, schools, and communities locally and worldwide. The Program offers two CACREP-accredited master’s programs: school counseling and mental health counseling. Mentored by dedicated faculty with extensive experience as licensed practitioners and in research, our students undergo an authentic experiential and evidence-based training.
Graduates of the UNTD Counseling program are dedicated leaders and advocates for diversity in the communities they serve.
Position Overview
UNT Dallas is bridging the gap between education and workforce readiness through our innovative Classroom to Career initiative. The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer in the Counseling Program. This position is a 9-month, non-renewable appointment with expectations of a four-course teaching load each semester. The initial one-year appointment begins September 1, 2026. The position includes teaching 12 hours (four courses) in the fall and spring semesters. Additional expectations include student advisement and participation in department meetings and school meetings.
The candidate selected for this position is intended to provide graduate students with valuable professional, administrative, service, and research experiences that complement their academic studies and strengthen career readiness.
Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP (The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) accredited program or equivalent program.
