Position: Lab Proctor (Temporary)

Salary Range: $15.00 To $20.00 Hourly

We are seeking a motivated and responsible individual to join our team as a Lab Proctor. The Lab Proctor will play a crucial role in assisting students during computer lab sessions, providing supervision during therapy sessions, and ensuring a conducive environment for assessments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage students in a technology-based learning setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Guiding Students to Computer Lab:
    • Escort students from their classrooms to the computer lab in an orderly manner.
    • Ensuring all students arrive promptly and safely to the lab for scheduled sessions.
  • Supervision During Computer Lab Sessions:
    • Overseeing students as they engage in computer-based learning activities.
    • Assisting students with technical issues or navigation challenges.
    • Enforcing lab rules and guidelines to maintain a focused and productive learning environment.
  • Assisting in Therapy Sessions:
    • Collaborating with therapy staff to facilitate a smooth transition for students from classroom to therapy sessions.
    • Providing support as needed during therapy sessions, ensuring students adhere to therapeutic activities and exercises.
  • Assessment Supervision:
    • Monitoring students during assessments to ensure a quiet and distraction-free environment.
    • Assisting with any logistical needs related to assessments, such as distributing materials and collecting completed work.
  • Communication:
    • Communicating effectively with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to address any concerns or observations related to student behavior or performance.
    • Reporting any technical issues in the computer lab to the appropriate personnel.
  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education or related field is a plus.
    • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic understanding of computer technology and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to maintain a positive and encouraging demeanor with students.
