SMU serves approximately 7,000 undergraduates and 5,000 graduate students through eight degree-granting schools:
Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, Cox School of Business, Lyle School of Engineering, Meadows School of the Arts, Simmons School of Education and Human Development, Dedman School of Law, Perkins School of Theology and Moody School of Graduate and Advanced Studies. SMU is data driven, and its powerful supercomputing ecosystem – paired with entrepreneurial drive – creates an unrivaled environment for the University to deliver research excellence.

About the Department: SMU Libraries is an active partner in the intellectual life of the university. Across SMU, the Libraries advance learning and research through expert services, distinctive collections, innovative programs, emerging technologies, and strong partnerships with faculty and students. Our librarians help students and scholars discover, evaluate, create, and use information while continually exploring new approaches to teaching, research, and scholarly practice.

The Duda Family Business Library is deeply integrated into the Cox School of Business and its highly entrepreneurial, data-informed academic environment. Students encounter business research, market and industry information, data and analytics, emerging technologies, and experiential learning throughout their education. The Duda Business Library helps them develop the research abilities, information fluency, and critical judgment they need to succeed at SMU and beyond.

About the Position:

The Business Undergraduate Program Librarian plays an important role in the BBA Library Research Program, an established, scaffolded information literacy program embedded in the Cox undergraduate curriculum.

Rather than building an instructional program from the ground up, the librarian will join an experienced team and immediately have opportunities to teach, work with faculty, assess student learning, and help shape the future of a recognized curricular program. Reporting to the Director of the Duda Family Business Library, the Business Undergraduate Librarian works with Cox faculty, Duda Business Library colleagues, and the interdisciplinary SMU Libraries Teaching Team.
