Weekly Work Hours 19.5 Compensation Range H24 Hourly Rate $23.78 Hourly FLSA United States of America (Non-Exempt) Work Location All positions are considered on-site roles. After six months of employment, some positions may be eligible to apply for a hybrid work arrangement based on job responsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas College policy. Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence, even when teaching online courses, in accordance with state law.

Type Staff Position Summary

Notetakers are responsible for listening and understanding class lectures and taking notes for a student with a disability. Notetakers are responsible to take clear and concise notes, edit and revise notes, and get them to the students within strict time frames.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to maintain confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding students, supervisors or other employees. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with student from the full range of diverse populations. Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with administration, faculty, students, staff, and other constituent groups and partners, both within and outside Dallas College community network. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student accessibility and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Excellent time management, and organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, complex ideas, and information to a variety of stakeholders/constituents within the Dallas College community network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage’s technology platforms to support students with disabilities.
  • Undertakes necessary training to utilize the equipment.
  • Instructs students on proper use of same.
  • Utilizes excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with internal/external stakeholders and constituents within the Dallas College community network.
  • Provide excellent customer services to clients.
  • May maintain related department records and/or confidential database for student files
  • Provide information to prospective students and parents regarding services provided and disability documentation requirements, as well as respond to public inquiries.
  • Present accessibility and disability information at campus events for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience working with ADA Compliance.
  • Experience working with diverse student and staff populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
  • Bilingual preferred.
