Reporting to the Executive Director and working in close partnership with the Director of Professional Development, Coaching, Coursework, and Community (PDCCC), Director of Fellow Experience, Director of Partnerships, and national leaders in educator learning and certification, the Director of Clinical Practice is the site leader responsible for fellow development and certification readiness. This role owns the coherence of the clinical practice experience by leading instructional coaching, aligning coaching and professional development to coursework and certification milestones, monitoring fellow instructional performance and progress toward licensure, and helping ensure fellows are placed in school-based settings where they can succeed.

The Director of Clinical Practice manages regional instructional coaches, coaches a small number of fellows directly, partners on placement quality and clinical logistics, and serves as the primary site-level owner of whether fellows are becoming effective, certified teachers.

• Own the regional clinical practice strategy and execution so that coaching, seminars, coursework alignment, certification milestones, and school-based experience operate as one coherent system for fellows.
• Lead the design and implementation of a high-quality clinical practice experience that reflects CTA instructional expectations, local school contexts, and culturally responsive, equity-centered teaching practices.
• Coach fellows directly in the clinical setting and ensure fellows receive timely, actionable feedback aligned to CTA's instructional framework/rubric.
• Partner with the Executive Director and site leadership team to review fellow progress, elevate risk, and implement tiered interventions for fellows who are off track instructionally or toward certification.

• Supervise, develop, and retain the regional team of instructional coaches, including participation in hiring, onboarding, norming, regular check-ins, observations, managing coaching quality and effectiveness (in-person and in-schools) and performance feedback.

• Master's degree in education or a related field required
• Significant experience in instructional coaching, teacher development, educator preparation, or a closely related field, including experience leading or supervising adults.
• Strong understanding of effective instructional practice, culturally responsive pedagogy, and coaching for early-career teachers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of teacher certification requirements, compliance expectations, and licensure processes, ideally across multiple states or regions.
• Strong project management, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
• Ability to analyze data, monitor progress, and use evidence to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
• Experience with systems such as Salesforce, Experience Cloud, Asana, Grow, or similar platforms preferred.
