Special Education Teachers – Structured Learning Classrooms (SLC)
Multiple Openings | Elementary & Middle School | In Person | Duncanville, TXMIYO Health is seeking several Special Education Teachers to support Structured Learning Classrooms (SLCs) with one of our public school district partners in Duncanville, Texas, in the Dallas metro area
.
We have opportunities at both the elementary and middle school levels for experienced special educators who are comfortable supporting students with more intensive learning, behavioral, communication, and functional needs.
These are in person, school based contracted positions with competitive compensation and mileage reimbursement for eligible travel.
What You’ll Do- Provide specialized instruction to students in a Structured Learning Classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt instruction and curriculum to meet individual student needs
- Collect and monitor data toward IEP goals and student progress
- Support students with academic, behavioral, communication, and functional needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and other members of the IEP team
- Participate in IEP meetings and complete required special education documentation
- Help create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Current Texas teaching certification with appropriate Special Education credentials
- Experience working with students with moderate to significant support needs preferred
- Experience in a self contained, structured learning, life skills, or similar classroom setting strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management, organization, and collaboration skills
- Passion for supporting students with diverse and intensive needs
This role may involve:
- Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Engaging in physical activities required for classroom and school settings
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential bodily fluids in a school environment
