The Project Associate reports directly to the team Project Manager. This is a client-facing role that requires the ability to build relationships both in and out of the office. The core responsibility of a Project Associate is to learn through on-the-job experience, peer-to-peer engagement, and technical training.

The Project Associate is phase 1 of 3 on the path to becoming a Project Manager with one of the largest electrical technology companies in the country

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understand Miller Electric’s service-based approach to the electrical project management process.
  • Build long-term relationships with your clients and fellow employees by earning trust through diligent communication and a high-quality work ethic.
  • Support the generation of estimates and proposals to build your team in winning new work, establishing procedures, and scheduling timelines.
  • Develop a solid electrical/material vocabulary and understanding of job site etiquette.
  • Work with your team to ensure the project is built following design, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with your field leaders to confirm client expectations and coordinate with subcontractors and other trades.
  • Assess construction progress, team needs, and issues through regular project visits with your field supervision.
  • Work with vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or IBEW licensed electrician
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to developing time management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands‑on learning environment
Preferred:
  • Experience working in the construction industry
  • Familiar with computer-based estimating
  • Understanding of billing and collections
