The Lead Electrical Power Project Coordinator will provide senior-level field and project coordination support for the successful execution and delivery of complex mission-critical electrical power projects. This role will work cross-functionally with project management, engineering, field services, commissioning, vendors, contractors, and clients to coordinate equipment delivery, installation, QA/QC, issue resolution, and L1-L5 commissioning activities.
The Lead Electrical Power Project Coordinator will serve as a key technical resource throughout project execution, helping ensure electrical power systems and equipment are delivered, installed, tested, and commissioned safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Essential FunctionsProject Coordination
- Support Senior Project Managers and Program Managers with project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, milestones, and progress tracking.
- Coordinate day-to-day field activities associated with electrical power equipment installation and project execution.
- Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, commissioning, field service, vendors, contractors, and client representatives.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, staging, installation, testing, and turnover activities.
- Proactively identify project risks, schedule impacts, technical issues, and potential delays and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Track project deliverables and communicate project status, issues, and action items to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with coordinating multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Electrical Power Technical Support
- Provide senior-level technical support related to mission-critical electrical power systems and equipment.
- Interpret and coordinate electrical construction drawings, one-lines, equipment layouts, specifications, and project documentation.
- Support installation and integration of electrical power distribution systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions with engineering, contractors, manufacturers, and field personnel.
- Provide hands‑on technical expertise to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards.
- Support electrical power system installation, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
Mission-Critical Power Systems
- Coordinate work involving critical electrical infrastructure, including:
- Medium- and low-voltage switch gear
- Switchboards and distribution equipment
- UPS systems
- Generators
- Automatic and static transfer switches
- PDUs
- Transformers
- Busway systems
- Protective devices and controls
- Critical power distribution systems
- Demonstrate an understanding of data center electrical topologies, redundancy, resiliency, and critical power distribution schemes.
- Coordinate and support QA/QC inspections of electrical installations and equipment.
- Inspect completed work for compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
- Identify deficiencies, document discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Assist with equipment production, delivery, installation, and turnover schedules.
- Support integrated testing and L1‑L5 commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with commissioning teams, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to resolve commissioning issues.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation, inspection records, punch lists, testing documentation, and turnover packages.
Safety
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture throughout project execution.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable OSHA requirements, site-specific safety procedures, and company policies.
