A manufacturing organization in the Dallas, Texas area is seeking a Process Engineer to drive reductions in process variation, manufacturing waste, operating costs, and unplanned downtime. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role supports both process and project engineering initiatives through data-driven analysis, hands‑on troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts across the facility.
This position plays a key role in optimizing manufacturing performance by partnering closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development of process documentation, including P&IDs and control narratives.
- Investigate production and process issues through equipment observation, collaboration with operators and maintenance personnel, and analysis of process data.
- Develop, test, and validate improvement hypotheses through structured trials; analyze results and present findings with recommended permanent solutions.
- Scope improvement initiatives, develop budgets, perform cost‑benefit analyses, and coordinate funding and execution.
- Identify and specify instrumentation and control requirements to support process optimization.
- Oversee installation, startup, commissioning, and optimization of process improvements to ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and external contractors to ensure successful project execution.
- Participate in daily production meetings, departmental reviews, shift meetings, and required safety training.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and accurate records of trials, modifications, and process changes.
- Occasionally travel for training, technical development, or professional growth opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with analytical and structured problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with MS Visio, Minitab, and SQL Server Management Studio.
- Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems, including Cognex vision systems, SAP, Siemens Step7 and TIA Portal, VFDs, Delta
V, and AVEVA System Platform.
- Ability to communicate effectively through speaking and listening.
- Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands and arms for handling and reaching.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
- Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated heights, dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, electrical equipment, and elevated noise levels.
- Must be able to recognize, mitigate, and follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
