Structural EIT — Dallas, Texas
As part of the Buildings Team for Garver, this Structural Engineer in Training will be responsible for developing structural designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects. Specifically, this role includes planning, design, and construction of several structural systems including structural steel, reinforced concrete, cold-formed steel, and reinforced masonry.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with other support disciplines, assist project managers, follow quality assurance and quality control plans, and coordinate with regional offices.
- Periodic travel may be required to project sites.
- Knowledge of structural engineering and principles
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software
- Ability to develop structural engineering calculations, both by hand and utilizing software
- Utilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawings
- Manage multiple assignments concurrently
- Be responsible for time management and product quality
- Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
- Be responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team
- Minimum of 2 years of industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited university or college
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
- Pursuing professional engineering licensure
- Must have an understanding of structural engineering principles
- Must have strong communication skills
- Work well under the direction of experienced structural engineers
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Experience with Autodesk software, specifically Revit
- Experience with project specifications
