As our workload continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our preconstruction team.

In this role, you’ll help shape projects from the ground up by developing accurate, competitive estimates and clear, well-organized proposals. You’ll review controls and MEP documents, build detailed takeoffs, and work closely with colleagues across Preconstruction and Field Operations. • Review controls scope documents, Input/Output summaries, shop drawings, and MEP plans to define complete electrical installation requirements.
• Prepare detailed material and labor takeoffs for BMS and PLC electrical work.
• Develop competitive pricing and well-structured proposal packages with clear assumptions and clarifications.
• Collaborate with teams across Vanguard’s regional offices on bid efforts and estimating needs.
• Work with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure everyone is aligned on scope and to resolve any questions that arise.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret complex technical information.
• A team-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of BMS/BAS and PLC components, control panels, communication networks, and field device installations.
• Understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and their relationship to controls.
• Experience estimating electrical labor and materials.
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Conest, Accubid) and digital takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam).
• Strong general computer skills and comfort learning new technology.
