We are currently looking to hire a Junior Materials Engineer for one of our clients based in Dallas, TX. Our client is a fast-growing company in the advanced manufacturing and sustainable technology space. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience and grow with a company that is expanding its manufacturing capabilities.
The Materials Engineer will support early-stage manufacturing processes such as strip casting, powder processing, pressing, and sintering, along with materials testing and pilot-scale experiments. You will work closely with experienced engineers, production teams, and R&D staff to run experiments, analyze results, and help improve and scale manufacturing processes. This role offers strong mentorship and real ownership of technical work.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Help plan and run experiments to improve magnet materials and manufacturing processes
- Assist with setting up and operating lab and pilot-scale manufacturing equipment
- Test and analyze materials using tools such as SEM, XRD, magnetometry, and particle size analysis
- Review experimental data and help turn results into practical process improvements
- Work with manufacturing teams to support the transition from development to production
This role is open to early-career candidates, including recent graduates. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 1+ year of work, internship, research, or lab experience is required.
PhD students or recent PhD graduates are also welcome to apply, even without industry experience, as long as they can show strong problem-solving ability. Examples include:
- Owning or leading a project as a student or researcher
- Designing or building an experimental setup or test device
- Running structured experiments and clearly explaining the results
Experience with metals, ceramics, or similar materials and exposure to manufacturing processes such as casting, powder metallurgy, pressing, or sintering is advantageous.
