We are seeking a Packaging Materials Engineer to provide support in all aspects of materials, recyclables, and packaging systems. This position will work with suppliers of cups, lids, plastic films, formulation of the cup/bottle, printing material for graphics, and more.

Support all aspects of packaging systems, focusing on continuous improvement, reliability, and documentation of sustainable processes. Implement new technology, enhance current operations, and maintain technician training. Reports to the Packaging Department Manager.
Principal Duties- Enhance packaging systems effectiveness.
- Implement new packaging technology and deliver new lines/equipment.
- Collaborate with various departments to implement efficient packaging and quality initiatives.
- Identify and eliminate process waste.
- Perform root cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Track cost reductions in process improvement activities.
- Review and audit technical information for packaging systems.
- BS in Science/Engineering (packaging, mechanical, electrical, industrial, chemical engineering, or related fields). Emphasis in Packaging Science preferred (Master's degree is a plus).
- Understanding of plastics, materials sciences, packaging materials, recyclables, and packaging machinery.
- 2-7 years of related experience in packaging engineering within the food/beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical industry.
- Project management experience desired.
- Additional certifications (HACCP, USDA, FDA, OSHA, GMP, SPC, Green/Black Belt) are highly desired.
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement experience is highly desired.
- Memberships in professional organizations is highly desired.
