Materials Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to join a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing organization in Dallas, TX. This role will lead the development and scale-up of high-purity metal and alloy production technologies and play a key role in the company’s next phase of technical growth.
What you’ll do- Lead hands‑on experimental development across electrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes, including molten salt electrolysis and metallothermic reduction
- Design and execute laboratory and pilot‑scale experiments involving high‑temperature reaction kinetics, molten salt systems, and reduction pathways
- Apply process modeling and simulation to understand thermodynamics, transport phenomena, and electrochemical behavior
- Translate experimental results into scalable, production‑ready manufacturing processes
- Apply materials characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, XRF, LECO, etc.) to drive process optimization and quality improvements
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with molten salt electrolysis, metallothermic reduction, or closely related high‑temperature metal production processes
- Strong theoretical and experimental background in electrochemistry, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, and kinetics
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced R&D or manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative working style
Candidates who have experience in the design or construction of furnace reactors, electrolysis cells, or custom experimental systems and experience leading technical development projects as well as mentoring junior engineers or technicians will be viewed favorably.
