The Manufacturing Cost Estimator will be a key member of the estimation team, reporting to the Director of Engineering and Quality. The candidate should be a dedicated, detail-oriented individual, who shows self-initiative and can prioritize and concurrentlyworkmultiple priorities,with a proven track recordof developing, coordinating, and executing estimation son time.
Responsibilities- Estimate labor and material requirements for a variety of different products.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, parts lists, specifications, etc. to ensure manufacturability and cost to manufacture.
- Review customer RFQ's anddeterminematerial requirements, processing, and manufacturing requirements.
- Communication with customers to accurately define requirements and expectations.
- Work with outside suppliers/services to achievebestpossible prices.
- Consolidate all outside costs and internal costs associated with process time.
- Work with shop floor and engineering/quality to ensure all data for manufacture isaccurateand complete before final package is prepared.
- Provideaccuratequotes ona timely basis, as needed
- Communicate any issues to Director of Engineering and Quality
- Ensure efficient and effective quoting processes for the company.
- Maintains and organizes all quote documentation
- 5 years’ experience in estimation and proposals, or similar
- Experience auditing accuracy of forecast labor and material requirements to produce reliable estimations
- Experience leading a project and/or program from RFQto projecton-boarding to transition to production
- Experience with sheet-metal fabrication,cable harness manufacturing, and assembly operations
- Proposal experience with knowledge of cost estimating and RFQprocesses
- Course work in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Finance, or similar discipline
- Strong knowledge of metal processing, such asforming, joining,machining,anodizing, passivation, etc.
- Working knowledge ofIPC-620
- Familiarity with CAD, preferably Solid Works orAutoCAD
- Excellent planning, communication,and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate with strong knowledge of MS Office suite
