The Engineering Specialist is an integral member of the Corporate Capital Projects team, responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects of varying size and complexity. This role focuses on project performance tracking, cost analysis and reporting, purchase order generation, and vendor data management under the direction of the Regional Engineering Manager.
EssentialJob Duties
- Assist the Regional Engineering Manager with project initiation, planning, and execution.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure flawless project delivery.
- Partner with Finance to monitor Capital Project status, budgets, purchase orders, and closeouts.
- Process and coordinate payment forms with Accounts Payable.
- Work with the Legal Department to develop and execute vendor or contractor contracts.
- Manage vendor and contractor onboarding in the Supplier System database, ensuring all GMP and Safety documentation is submitted.
- Track and analyze project performance, expenditures, and procurement activities, identifying risks or variances.
- Support the definition of project scope and objectives, ensuring technical feasibility and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support multi-year capital planning activities.
- Prepare regular reports and elevate issues to management as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Authorized to implement projects, issue purchase orders, coordinate project-related travel, schedule team meetings, and maintain project budgets within approved capital expenditure limits.
- External resources (contractors, equipment vendors, etc)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to develop detailed planning documents and long-range project schedules.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication and facilitation skills.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, cost control, and scope verification.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and under pressure.
- Strong client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
- 0–3 years of experience in Capital Project Engineering Coordination preferred.
- Up to 60% travel required.
