We are seeking a passionate Project Planner who is eager to contribute to vibrant, inclusive communities through expert planning and effective stakeholder engagement. This role merges community and transportation planning with strong project leadership and dynamic communication, aiming to deliver impactful solutions across the organization. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a strong blend of project management, planning/design expertise, and business development skills.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Lead long‑range planning initiatives for diverse clients, including municipalities, counties, MPOs, and others.
- Manage projects related to comprehensive plans, downtown revitalization, transportation, corridor strategies, safety action initiatives, and more.
- Guide and contribute to planning projects focused on community development and transportation enhancements.
- Implement advanced planning principles to create strategies, policies, and plans that foster community growth and resilience.
- Oversee project scopes, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring coordination across internal teams and disciplines.
- Design and implement stakeholder engagement strategies, including facilitating public meetings and outreach for high‑impact projects.
- Collaborate with agencies, developers, and community organizations to align planning solutions with local objectives and needs.
- Support business development through proposal writing, strategy development, and nurturing client relationships.
- Mentor junior team members and cultivate a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
- Maintain project data and documentation in the company's project management system.
- Bachelor's degree in planning or urban design;
Master's degree preferred. - A minimum of six years of relevant planning experience.
- AICP certification is a plus.
- Experience with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator is preferred.
- Proficiency in GIS applications is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing or supporting planning projects.
- Strong background in community and/or transportation planning.
- Previous consulting experience is an advantage.
- Experience with business development, including proposal writing and support for client pursuits.
