Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a leading U.S. manufacturer near Dallas, TX. This position focuses on designing and optimizing systems that improve productivity, quality, and safety in a continuous manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is both analytical and hands-on, with strong experience in control system design, process automation, and cross-functional project leadership.

This is an on-site role and will report directly to the department manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Solve complex, highly technical problems related to automation and production efficiency.
  • Improve and maintain new and existing control processes, optimizing for throughput and quality.
  • Eliminate waste of time, materials, energy, and other non-value-added resources.
  • Create documentation such as work instructions, control plans, and process flow/failure analyses.
  • Troubleshoot and support both new and legacy equipment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in achieving process improvement and automation goals.
  • Develop and implement control systems that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Guide technical staff during equipment repair and system upgrades.
  • Ensure all safety and electrical standards are met and maintained.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment (extrusion experience preferred).
  • Project management and technical planning abilities.
  • Familiarity with AC/DC electrical systems (up to 480 volts).
  • Proficient with:
  • Allen Bradley PLCs
  • RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000
  • Factory Talk View Studio
  • Ethernet/IP networking
  • AC drives and motor controls
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical a plus.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E and industrial safety standards preferred.

    Education & Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field preferred.
    • 5+ years' experience in industrial engineering, maintenance, or controls.
    • Candidates without a degree may be considered with 10+ years of relevant experience, including time in an engineering role.
