This is an on-site role and will report directly to the department manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solve complex, highly technical problems related to automation and production efficiency.
- Improve and maintain new and existing control processes, optimizing for throughput and quality.
- Eliminate waste of time, materials, energy, and other non-value-added resources.
- Create documentation such as work instructions, control plans, and process flow/failure analyses.
- Troubleshoot and support both new and legacy equipment.
- Lead cross-functional teams in achieving process improvement and automation goals.
- Develop and implement control systems that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Guide technical staff during equipment repair and system upgrades.
- Ensure all safety and electrical standards are met and maintained.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment (extrusion experience preferred).
- Project management and technical planning abilities.
- Familiarity with AC/DC electrical systems (up to 480 volts).
- Proficient with:
- Allen Bradley PLCs
- RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000
- Factory Talk View Studio
- Ethernet/IP networking
- AC drives and motor controls
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical a plus.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and industrial safety standards preferred.
Education & Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in industrial engineering, maintenance, or controls.
- Candidates without a degree may be considered with 10+ years of relevant experience, including time in an engineering role.
