We are seeking a detail-oriented Documentation Control Specialist to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for managing engineering and compliance documentation, ensuring proper revision control, and maintaining the integrity of change management processes. The Documentation Control Specialist will work closely with internal teams, the manufacturing division, and external vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation practices that support product development, manufacturability, and global market readiness.

This role will begin with an on-site onboarding period in Sulphur Springs, TX for the first two weeks, with the possibility of extending up to four weeks based on training needs. Following onboarding, the position will be based out of our Dallas office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain engineering and compliance documentation, including drawings, BOMs, test reports, compliance certificates, and manuals.
  • Implement and oversee revision control processes, ensuring document accuracy, version history, and traceability.
  • Administer and track Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and charge control logs, ensuring changes are properly documented and communicated.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, compliance, and operations teams to ensure documentation supports design, testing, and regulatory needs.
  • Coordinate with the manufacturing division to align document changes with production processes.
  • Communicate updated documentation and ECNs to vendors, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with specifications.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate, controlled documentation.
  • Train and support staff on documentation control processes, best practices, and systems.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in documentation control, quality assurance, or engineering support (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Strong understanding of document control systems, ECN processes, and revision control standards.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 9001, UL, IEC, NEC, NOM) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in document management tools (SharePoint, Egnyte, PLM/ERP systems).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional and vendor coordination.

  • Attention to Detail & Accuracy - Ability to spot inconsistencies, missing information, and ensure 100% traceability.
  • Process Orientation - Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems, and ability to refine documentation workflows.
  • Technical Literacy - Familiarity with engineering documents (CAD files, BOMs, wiring diagrams) and compliance reports.
  • Digital Tools Proficiency - Skilled in advanced document control systems, version control, and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, macros).
  • Audit & Compliance Mindset - Prepared to support internal and external audits with complete, accurate documentation.
  • Project & Time Management - Ability to handle multiple ECNs, revisions, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Soft Skills - Patience, persistence, adaptability, integrity, and professionalism when working across teams and with external partners.
